Our work and impact cut across five key areas: rainforests, oceans, biodiversity, endangered species and humanity. And within each of these we help a variety of causes in need — from ensuring the planet’s rhinos still roam to making certain there is clean water for all. At VAKOVAKO, we believe there is a cause for everyone, and the choice for which to support is entirely up to you.

To create enduring change, we must work together. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List (IUCN Red List) - the world’s most comprehensive information source on the global conservation status of animal, fungi and plant species - there are currently approximately 42,000 species under threat of extinction, 25,000 of which are believed to be endangered or critically endangered.

Rainforests, rich in biodiversity and home to over half of the world’s species, are incredibly essential to our well-being and the well-being of our planet. Though resilient, rainforests remain threatened due to deforestation, poaching, and climate change. Rainforests regulate our climate and provide us with everyday products.

It is estimated our oceans hold 97% of all the world's water. Without them, life cannot exist. However, the health of these fragile waters are declining due to climate change and human-related activities.

Biodiversity - the variety and interconnectedness of species - is the life support for our planet and human population. However, much of Earth’s biodiversity is in a state of decline due to human activity which disrupts and even destroys vital ecosystems. These activities include pollution, climate change, overuse of resources, and population growth.

How do we achieve sustainable development, guarantee access to clean drinking water, foster ethical market economies and fight new as well as re-emerging diseases? It requires collaborative action.

The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a nonprofit wildlife conservancy in Central Kenya's Laikipia County. One of only five IUCN green list status conservancies in Africa and home to the world's last two northern white rhinos and other rare species.
