Congo: The Price of an Elephant

New documentary exposes the harsh realities of the ivory trade

The documentary film Congo: The Price of an Elephant takes viewers to the heart of Africa and reveals the hidden mechanisms of the black market in ivory. The film stars singer and activist Ben Cristovao and conservationist Arthur Sniegon, who together embark on a journey into dangerous areas where poaching threatens the last populations of forest elephants.

You can look forward to breathtaking footage of African nature, but above all, an authentic look at the dramatic struggle for survival of one of the most endangered animals on the planet. The film seeks answers to fundamental questions: Why are forest elephants threatened with extinction? Who is behind the illegal ivory trade? And what can each of us do to save them?
